After a total of 16 hours of flight, we arrived in Buenos Aires on Tuesday evening, safe and sound but tired.
The first impression was very pleasing, 20°C in winter, that's how you can live. However, it was a bit disturbing that everyone except us was wearing winter jackets and scarves.
Very unusual for us Europeans is also the traffic. Whoever honks the loudest is right! Lanes and pedestrian crossings are rather decorative...
After a good night's sleep (thanks jet lag...), we set off on foot to explore the city. We strolled along Puerto Madero and visited the poor neighborhood of La Boca with its famous 'colorful street' Caminito.
Culinarily, Buenos Aires has completely convinced us. For the equivalent of 2.5€, you can get a 'Bondiola' (crispy steak sandwich with ham, cheese, and omelette).
Since 23km of walking was not enough for us, we visited the tango show 'Complejo Tango' in the evening, including a dance lesson. There was also a very delicious 3-course menu and an open wine bar all evening... :D
On the 2nd day, with sore muscles, we decided to walk less. It turned out to be 15km...
The highlight of the day was the famous Cemetery 'La Recoleta', where one spectacular mausoleum surpasses the next.
Since pictures say more than a thousand words:
