Da Lat

Pibliye: 12.02.2023

To get to Da Lat, we take another night bus. This time the journey takes 15 hours. Marcia was able to rest well on the bus, but I am quite exhausted after the night.

In the center of Da Lat, there is a small lake that we immediately start to circle halfway around. On the way, we find an architecturally interesting shopping center. It is practically built underground and at first we thought it was just a park.

On the other side of the lake, we go to a flower park. Da Lat is known for its flowers and there are different 'exhibitions' throughout the year.

Relatively early, we go to the hostel to check in to our 'sleep capsule'. We clearly have the best view. Later, we meet other travelers in the hostel bar and talk about traveling.

On our first full day in Da Lat, we immediately visit the Valley of Love. We are somewhat surprised that this is a kind of 'amusement park'. Our ideas were different, but the park was unusual and creatively designed. However, the idea of the park was not quite clear to us.

After visiting the park, we drive to the other side of the city where another lake is located. We really like this one and would like to relax there a bit longer. Therefore, we decide to stay in Da Lat longer than planned. We are both somewhat exhausted from the many experiences and need some rest and relaxation.

One day we spend by the lake and let our souls dangle a bit. However, it was quite difficult to find a suitable place by the lake. Several resorts are being built around the lake, which means that there are hardly any public spaces by the lake. Eventually, we found an unofficial 'forest path' to the lake anyway.

In the evening, we eat in a vegetarian buffet restaurant. For about two francs per person, we can fill our bellies here and try all sorts of unknown delicacies.

On the last day before we leave, we take it easy. We tinker around Da Lat on a scooter, drink coffee, pass countless greenhouses, and go to another lake. A particularly cool visit is a coffee roastery where I can enjoy a great filter coffee.

Now we continue to Ho Chi Minh or Saigon. Perhaps our last destination in Vietnam before we go to Cambodia.
