We have chosen a small farm in Waingaro, just 16 min. from Ngaruawahia, and we are overwhelmed. Nature everywhere, beautiful nature! Animals like horses, goats, sheep, and alpacas. The people have a basic trust and few rules. The rules: Wash everything for the next traveler and don't walk on the couch with shoes. Every person feels more than comfortable! Wifi, big kitchen, clean toilets, and washing machine are included. People with self-contained cars and people with tents are welcome. Yesterday we were lying in our hammocks under palm trees and weeping willows and the horses grazed right next to us, we can pet them, cuddle them, feed them, and thus spoil our soul as well. It's just too beautiful to believe. Such nice people and all of this in the pure belief of giving something and getting it back in the form of gratitude and fascination. After all the hardships and/or rather restless places, it's just the right thing before we continue traveling up north via Auckland. This time..we have so much time, we do everything calmly and with lots of love, we often don't let ourselves get stressed and if we like a place, we stay there. We were told on the way that this is the most important tip on our journey. That's exactly our mantra. Unless we have an appointment ;) New people are met, just like new places, everywhere. We can play Skip-Bo again, read a lot, think about our route, plan hikes through the huge mountains here, and feel the sun tingling on our skin. Every person takes the time and asks 'How are you?' no matter where! Cashiers, farm workers, hostel contacts, random people while we're in the shower. Just everyone. We learn something new every second. We probably did the same in Germany, but now it's so much more intense. One of the pictures shows our previous route and soon there will be updates again. Unfortunately, only more frequently when there is an available power supply. We think of all of you and enjoy all of this to the fullest! Alessa+Sofie
