Day 9: The DOOB

This morning the weather was really bad. It was quite cloudy and it took until half past ten for the clouds to disappear and the sun to shine brightly again. That's why we decided to spend the day on the beach anyway. We had already reserved loungers for today.

That's why today I would like to show you our local restaurant on Surin Beach, which we got to know and love last year, the DOOB !

Located at the northern end of Surin Beach, you can easily get to the restaurant by moped. At the entrance to the village (if you want to call Surin a village), coming from Kamala, you immediately turn left and drive to the beach at a sports field on the left. If you are traveling by car, you can park there. With the moped you continue on the sandy path to the right, where you arrive at the DOOB between bars, stalls and open-air massage parlors about 200 m to the end of the easily accessible path.

On the right we find what we would call the bar and where the drinks are prepared. The “managing director” sits right next to him and keeps an eye on the finances using a sophisticated note system. The whole thing is protected from the weather by a kind of party tent.

Next to it is the “kitchen”, which was rebuilt this year and moved a few meters compared to last year. The food they conjure up there is unbelievable.

On the opposite side are the loungers with umbrellas, which can be rented for 100 THB (€2.70) per day and are located directly on the sandy beach, as well as the restaurant tables, where you can relax from the more extensive area You can indulge in culinary delights at very moderate prices. Also worth mentioning are the delicious cocktails, which are available for 100 THB.

The staff is extremely friendly (even if some Google reviews say otherwise) and also brings the orders to the loungers. Payment is only made in the evening. No matter whether ordered at the table or at the loungers, everything is written down on a collection sheet and so far every daily billing has been correct.

There is even a toilet and a small shower and you can even reserve your loungers for the next day.

Definitely our favorite beach restaurant in Phuket.
