Happy belated 1st Advent!
We are currently sitting by the riverside in Krabi, and David is doing everything for the perfect time-lapse recording.
On our last day in Koh Phi Phi, we decided to view the island from above and climbed a collection of lookout points. With 33 degrees and radiant sunshine, we enjoyed the amazing view! While David and Mara took pictures, Konrad struggled with sunscreen and accidentally bumped into Peter Lustig's daughter.
In the afternoon, we took the ferry back to the mainland to Krabi. Here we are staying in a backpacker hostel, which is situated in a former primary school.
On Saturday, we rented bicycles and took a tour to the nearby Tiger Cave Temple. This temple is located on a hill, and we climbed the 1260 steps to the 360-degree view (it felt just as hot). The view extended over fields, past small villages, and the mountains all the way to the sea. Along the way, we encountered numerous monkeys that allowed visitors to feed them. Konrad was a bit more cautious due to his sports bag with a banana print, while David took no prisoners for the perfect video recording.
We spent the 1st Advent at Railay Beach in the sun and almost managed to have a day at the beach without getting a sunburn (Quote Konrad: 'Today is cloudy, so we don't need sunscreen' Quote Konrad 3 hours later: 'oh shit'). Unfortunately, your cookies haven't reached us yet, it must be because of the post, but of course, we will wait until the 2nd Advent (David already misses his annual gingerbread house!).
We traveled there for about 30 minutes with a long-tail boat (a small boat with about 12 seats). Here, too, trust in Thai architecture is required, as even the smallest waves make the boat sway heavily (note to ourselves: don't forget motion sickness tablets next time!).
Tomorrow, we will embark on the 20-hour journey to Kuala Lumpur to see what this city, described as even more stressful than Bangkok, has to offer.
Have a great week!
Best regards!
Konrad, David, and Mara
