On the morning of June 28, 2022, we wake up and ta-dah, the sun is shining again!
So off to Kristiansand. Most people arrive here by ferry and quickly continue on. However, we have found a nice parking space in a natural park and take a stroll through the city first. Kristiansand surprises us! We didn't have too high expectations, but the city center with its many shops and restaurants is very beautiful and lively (even a brass band walked by). So we wander around the city, past the modern opera with its wave-shaped wooden roof, a bookstore (to buy a travel guide that we hadn't bought yet), to the harbor and onto the island of Odderøya for a little walk and some blueberries. Now we have earned a cool swim in one of the clear lakes in the park where we parked and enjoy the evening sun. We could stay here for a while, but eventually we pack our things and continue on to Flekkefjord.
The picturesque town is already a bit empty when we arrive. After a half-hour walk through the streets with well-preserved whitewashed houses (Dutch quarter) and crocheted pennant garlands, we have already walked through the small town.
We drive a bit further and stop for the night at Lake Botnevatnet, where there are already 6 other campers in the parking lot. Understandable, because the view of the clear lake and the surrounding mountains is wonderful!
Tomorrow we have our first real hike to Brufjellhålene.
