In the morning, we visited the Jumirah Mosque, the only mosque in Dubai that can be visited by tourists daily, except on Fridays.
First, we had tea and some snacks provided by the Center for Cultural Understanding before the tour started.
We then went to the nearby Etihad Museum, where the history of the formation of the United Arab Emirates is told.
During a guided tour, we also visited the 'Union House', where the treaty was signed.
We then took the hop-on-hop-off bus along the coast and had a glimpse of the famous Burj Al Arab hotel.
In the Dubai Mall, we visited the aquarium, which spans three floors. We walked through a huge tank in a glass tunnel, where we saw various sharks and rays.
On the next floor, there was the 'Underwater Zoo', which also housed parrots, bats, and other creatures that we didn't expect to see underwater...
There were two saltwater crocodiles in one tank, which were also fed in the afternoon. However, the male crocodile was quite sluggish and didn't want to take the offered chicken - at least not if he had to move for it.
Since we had some time before our time slot for the Burj Khalifa, we strolled through the Dubai Mall and marveled at the many expensive designer stores.
