All good things come to an end...

Hoʻopuka ʻia: 06.05.2017

All good things come to an end - so does my journey.

3 1/2 months have flown by for me, filled with so many wonderful moments and breathtaking places I had the privilege to visit.

Now it's time for me to return - but instead of going back to everyday life, a new adventure awaits.

I have met people who travel to escape their daily routines.

I have met people who travel to put an end to an old chapter of their lives and start a new one.

I have met people who have lost themselves somewhere along the way and want to find themselves through their journey.

I have met people who travel because it is the fulfillment of their lives.

For me, this journey was a way to be completely present with myself, isolated from my familiar comfort zone and far away from the dear people who accompany me through my daily life. It was a reflection, but above all, an inspiration and motivation for a big new step.

Because when I get back home, the seriousness of life begins. Off to the working world! (I can already hear my dad saying, 'It's about time.')

I want to venture into self-employment and turn my passion for photography into a profession.

This thought has been swirling around in my head for a while. But there were also many doubts that made me uncertain and made me wonder if I can even do it, if it's worth the risk, and if I have enough life experience.

After over three months and five different countries, with many new acquaintances with people of different backgrounds, with plenty of time for myself and my thoughts, after days that made me laugh and days that pushed me to my limits, after all the happiness of being able to experience this amazing world, I have found an answer: Yes!

Yes, I can do it! Yes, it's worth the risk! And you can never have enough life experience ;)

I want to do what makes me happy, and that is photography. That's why I'm going to start this journey (of course, with careful preparation and planning, nothing works without that, as you know haha) and see where it takes me.

I also want to say THANK YOU to all of you for always taking the time to read my little reports here and be part of my adventure. That has also given me the strength to take my next step. It's comforting to know that there are people out there who are close to you despite thousands of kilometers of distance :)

Thank you, and I hope you will accompany me on this new journey.

With love,

Niki
