Swakopmund

Swakopmund on the coast is a welcome and refreshing change from the heat. Due to a cold polar current and frequent foggy weather, the coastal region is not tropical but reminiscent of the North German coast - Swakopmund is jokingly called 'the southernmost Baltic Sea resort in Germany', and that is especially a good description because the German colonial heritage is still very visible here in a very peculiar way.
