I don't even know where to start - actually, nothing happened today at all! ;) The day started with a lot of wind but also with sunshine for the first time in a long time, and the quote of the day was: 'It was completely smooth until the waves came.' (Original quote by El) It referred to the surface of the fjord and amused everyone else. :)
The start was not nearly as complicated as assumed. With the combined effort of three marshals and one driver, we returned to the paved road without any problems. After realizing yesterday that our cost-saving idea of 'avoiding ferries' was a total failure - a lot of ferries have been free since this summer - we decided to return to the coast. So today, we have arrived at a great parking spot (Forøy), which cost nine euros, includes an 11-kilometer tunnel (toll), and three ferry crossings, with a view of the fjord and the glacier. It should also be mentioned that this morning, during the crossing of a pass, we had a temperature of only 5°C, saw our first moose, and almost missed the second ferry crossing. However, we were able to relax for two hours in the sun, at over 20°C. Oh, and we have now also crossed the polar circle - so, nothing happened today at all ;)
PS: I almost forgot: After the '6-minute hot polar circle shower,' we are all clean (quote by Juliane: 'much needed!') and enjoying some Licor 43. Even though El is still desperately hoping for Northern Lights and the nights are clear, according to the radar, it won't happen tonight either :(
