Riga - Day 2.
Today we explored the Old Town more closely. Not so easy with all the alleys! Each one is intriguing, tempting you to follow it.🤓 By chance, we stumbled upon the 'most romantic café' in the city: truly adorable tucked away in a tiny courtyard.👌
Street musicians and an organ concert (Bach, Liszt) in the cathedral provided a relaxed soundtrack for our leisurely stroll. The organist's full-bodied performance was projected on a video screen. Real athletic effort!💪
Highlight: Walking tour in the Art Nouveau quarter. They really went all out with the architecture back then, absolutely worth seeing.😍
After so many impressions, we ended the day with a cozy stop by the Daugava, enjoying the view of the harbour and the Baltic Sea ferry.⚓⛵⛴
Riga, you've charmed us. Varied, relaxed, no overtourism!👍
Eastern Bloc meets architectural gems.😊
Oh, and don't let the beautiful buildings distract you! Always keep an eye on the ground, because the streets and sidewalks are in a treacherous condition.🙈
Tomorrow we'll get our rental car and leave the city.🌲⚓
