Arriving in Toulouse, I immediately took the right path to the hostel/youth hostel, I'm getting better and neglecting some habits 😁
At first glance, everything was fine. Everything a bit worn out but clean. At second glance, it turned out to be a disaster. But even with that, I tried to arrange myself, the terrace was very nice, so I'll spend my evening there. Or maybe not, at 8 p.m. I was asked to go inside, the terrace closes at 8 p.m. 🙈. The room was not really an alternative, the "common room" was rather a converted garage, but my only option. I spare my readers the closer description of the room. After an hour, I gave up, it was not possible to sit there relaxed. Off to the room, from the rain to the hail 😭. Then I'll just go to bed early, then I'll have more of the day tomorrow. With an audiobook in my ear, I tried to endure it here somehow and maybe fall asleep at some point. The mattress felt older than me and I had a view of the upper mattress from my lower bed, no comment, enough that I can't get the images out of my head anymore. The smell in the room was hard to bear, even with the window open (I fought hard for it).
At around 9:30 p.m., a girl came into the room, her look said it all, she left with her packed backpack and suitcase 10 minutes later and didn't come back. Good idea, I won't stay here either, tomorrow I'll look for something new, I have to survive the night. At some point, I must have fallen asleep. At 4 a.m., I woke up and counted the hours until I could get up, shower, and escape from here. I've never been out this early before. The only sleepable alternative was a hotel, it doesn't matter, I can't stand it here and I am currently very undemanding.
Check-in at the hotel and I fell into bed and took a long nap. Okay Toulouse, now we can get to know each other relaxed. I spent the rest of the day enjoying the evening sun and the view of Toulouse at the observation point Jardin de l'observatoire. There I had dinner on the bench accompanied by French guitar music. Perfect end to a bumpy start. Tomorrow I'll sleep in and have the whole day to explore this beautiful city.
Toulouse is a very diverse city with beautiful little streets, squares, cute cafes, and a lot of history. But like almost everywhere in France, everything is very expensive. Coffee with a vegan cookie for over 7 euros, treating myself (except for 2 nights in the hotel 🙈)
As there was a lot going on in Toulouse, it was difficult to take photos, there were more people than usual in them. But there is still a little impression.
On Saturday, I went to La Rochelle, following my invitation from Cassis 🥰
