We spent almost three days in Napier. It was the most beautiful city in New Zealand for me so far. There are many amazing Art-Deco buildings here.
In February 1931, there was an earthquake of magnitude 7.9 in Napier, which destroyed a large part of the city. The city was then rebuilt in the style of the era. Napier was considered the 'newest city on Earth' afterwards.
In addition to the impressive architecture, there is also a lot of street art to admire while strolling through the city.
In Napier, we also had our best 'Real Fruit Ice Cream' so far. Fresh fruits are mixed into the vanilla ice cream. The taste reminds me a bit of the ice cream from 'Ed von Schleck'. A dream, I tell you! :-)
