I am used to speaking English to the locals on my holidays, but I get confused in Croatia as almost everybody prefers to speak German with us...
It's strange that even the street vendor at his olive oil stand prefers to speak German with us rather than English...probably because the majority of tourists come from Germany.
Our campsite has also filled up nicely now, and you can tell that the high season is starting.
You can still recognize the camping newcomers on the first day by their mask (under the chin) 🤩
Corona is still hardly a topic here, even though Croatia is still officially considered a risk area by Germany. It's a mystery why it is not delimited by regions like Spain and Portugal. Istria currently has an incidence rate of 8.
Since Tuesday, the sun has been shining non-stop ☀️ We splash in the pool, play on the beach, or chill out in front of the caravan. The kids now also say "home" for the caravan 🥳
On Wednesday, we took a trip to the southwest tip of Istria in Kamenjak National Park and swam at the breathtaking Pinižule Beach.
On Friday, we went on a bike tour in the Zlatni Rt Park Forest (Golden Cape) in Rovinj, where you can also find beautiful bathing bays.
