I don't want to say too many words about yesterday: we drove for a long time, the camping site (Holman Camping, on the edge of the Trillmarka nature reserve) was nice, but the weather was mixed and at the end of the day we decided to leave early and still to spend a few days on the beach in Denmark. To be honest, we rebooked the ferry 3 times yesterday. Today I called one last time and.
We admitted to ourselves that the unsettled weather and all the driving wasn't right after all and that we would rather spend a few more days relaxing on the beach, where we can go for walks, do some exercise and all in all feel more calm. Our ferry leaves tomorrow at 1 p.m.
Today we arrived at Kyrkjeneset Camping, 2 hours from the ferry. The place is magical. Right on the water, with small beach access, very idyllic and quiet. And that too in the best weather. Here in the south-east of Norway everything is much flatter and is more reminiscent of Sweden with extensive forests and lakes. It's incredibly beautiful. At least I was able to see this part of Norway. Nevertheless, I think a lot about what we could have experienced and seen. Sven always promises me that we'll do it again at some point when Michel is older. I often forget how small he is.
Unfortunately Sven left his running shoes somewhere, we're still wondering where. So I was the only one who went for a short run. Tomorrow before the crossing we'll get some new running shoes for Sven, luckily the nearest Intersport is not far from the ferry terminal.
The fact that Sven lost his shoes brought me down again for a while. But he is always so optimistic and positive. We could have had car problems, gotten sick, or had other inconveniences, he argued. He's right about that.
I'm sad that we're leaving Norway tomorrow. I sit by the water, listen to the water and know about my two men who are lying in the camper and sleeping. I am happy and very, very grateful.
Even though the vacation didn't go as planned, it was beautiful and full of wonderful memories. We were able to spend so much time together. Sven in particular soaked up every second with Michel and enjoyed every moment he had with him to the fullest. In the evening he is already looking forward to the next morning when Michel greets us with his beautiful, big eyes.
I'm looking forward to the future with my own little family.
