Sooooo, the original plan was to take a bus from Dubrovnik to Split and then continue by train to Šibenik. But since I was expecting a 2-hour delay instead of a 1-hour delay, I missed the train in Split and there are only 2 trains to Šibenik per day. So I had to buy a bus ticket in Split and came to Šibenik that way. I hate taking the bus. PS: The bus to Šibenik was also delayed 👍🏻. And I'm not talking about a few minutes.
The hostel I stayed at was actually quite nice. It was clean, small, nice, and had a good location, but there was one thing that annoyed me incredibly. No matter how delicately I set the water temperature when showering, it was either too cold or scalding hot.
So I took cold showers, which is supposed to be healthy, but it's disgusting.
I went to Šibenik because I wanted to visit the Krka National Park nearby. So I did that the next day. And what can I say? It was beautiful. Crystal clear water, amazing forests, breathtaking waterfalls, and so on. The pictures speak for themselves, but it looked even better in person! The park is essentially a natural landscape crossed by a river, which is why it is so beautiful. There are larger and smaller waterfalls, lakes, ponds everywhere. And everything is surrounded by bushes and trees. There are also all kinds of animals living there. Even a few species of snakes and endemic fish species.
However, I had to take all the photos with my phone because my camera couldn't handle it. The photos looked incredibly bad there...
In the evening, I had a delicious steak with an excellent red wine sauce. Then I was exhausted and went to sleep.
The next day was intended for the departure to Zagreb. However, the train didn't leave until noon, so I took the opportunity to explore the city of Šibenik. And yes, it's a nice coastal town, but nothing special. I didn't experience any more highlights there...
Next destination is the Plitvice Lakes National Park. A reason why I wanted to go to Croatia in the first place!
