07.-11.09.2017 - Prague

Buga: 12.09.2017

Next stop - Prague. From Vikletice we took the land route to Prague, the landscape did not change significantly. However, the villages and cities noticeably became richer. In Prague, we chose a very nice small campsite in Troja right on the Vltava River ('Autocamp Trojska').

From here, it was very easy to explore the city center on foot. The main reason for visiting the big city (1.2 million inhabitants) are two good old friends, Oscar and Lalo, who have been living in Prague for a few months.

The city, like Karlovy Vary, is beautiful and characterized by historical buildings. A sight that is unfortunately not known in Germany, as everything was destroyed in World War II. Prague was spared. The then president decided, after a threat from Hitler to bomb the city, to join the Allies. Before and during World War II, there were still many German residents living here who resisted the capture by the Red Army until the very end. The region around Prague is now one of the richest in the European Union.

On Sunday, we took a trip to Kutná Hora, to an ossuary - one of the largest of its kind. Here, a cemetery church was created from 11,000 skeletons. A strangely remarkable place that was worth a visit. The place is meant to be understood as a memorial to treat fellow human beings well.

All in all, it was a nice visit, but we were also ready for nature. That's why we are now heading south...
