final destination: Morocco!

Malaga - Algesiras- Tanger Med - Rabat 

Distance: Malaga - Algesiras : 138 km

                 Tanger Med - Rabat : 289 km

  Hello everyone

this post is now sent from my final destination and last minute decision Morocco. I left Malaga quiet early in the morning to get the ferry from Algesiras (crazy and not very well organised harbour) to leave for Tanger Med. It is actually nice to travel on bike as you have priority everywhere , for the check in and the check out and I was the only one travelling on bike with all the other moroccan people and families leaving europe to spend their vacations in Morocco. 

The arrival was quiet funny as well, as I had to stop minimum 3 times at every control counter because police officers wanted to understand why on earth a woman is travelling alone on bike to Morocco. Roughly an hour later I could take the highway leading to Rabat to see my friend Asma. Of course, Morocco would not be Morocco if everything went smoothly. The toll counters don' t take any credit cards at all so you ' d better change your money already in Europe.  but the people behind me were so kind to pay the toll for me so I was able to continue my journey. 

Arriving in Rabat, I got lost once again because my cell phone decided not to provide me with any gps signal, so Asma had to come and find me at th place where I decided not to move any further. I can not tell you how happy I was when I saw her. Evening program; find a safe parking spot for my motorbike and relax.

following days program: sightseeing in the area of Rabat and Kenitra . i have lived in Rabat for a while some years ago so it s really great to see the city again.

Day 2 here has finally passed as well and we' re just relaxing in a tiny bar in Rabat Salé, having some Virgin (!) mojitos and planning our last day here in Rabat tomorrow. We will then go and see Asma' s family in Settat (by car :) ) and I ll take the train from there and leave for Marrakech (only for one evening). So on Wednesday it will be officially my way back. ..

Hallo meine Lieben!

Ich hatte mich dann doch relativ kurzfristig entschieden, die Reise nach Marokko anzutreten. Mein Schiff ging am Freitag Mittag von Algesiras nach Tanger Med. ( ich habe noch nie so einen unübersichtlichen Hafen wie i Algesiras gesehen und ich kann Auch nicht mehr genau sagen wieviele Runden und wieviele Angestellte ich dort fragen musste, bis ich den richtigen Fahrstreifen für Tanger gefunden hatte. ) es waren Sehr viele Leute nach Marokko unterwegs. Die meisten marokkanische Familien; die aus Frankreich kamen um Urlaub im Heimatland zu machen. Die überfahrt dauerte Auch nicht lange , ca 1.5 Stunden und man kann das marokkanische Festland schon von Algesiras aus sehen. 

Angekommen in Tanger Med dauerte es dann nochmal fast eine Stunde, bis ich aus der Kotrollzone herauskam und dann ging es recht gemütlich über die Autobahn bis nach Rabat zu meiner Freundin Asma. Ich war erstaunt; denn das Land und die Infrastruktur hat sich seit meinem letzten Besuch extrem verbessert. Ich hatte mich ein bisschen in Rabat verfahren und musste dann irgendwo in Rabat Salé auf Asma warten. SIe hatte mich aber relativ schnell gefunden, und ich war überglücklich, sie zu sehen. Unser ABendprogramm gestaltete sich relativ einfach ; einen Parkplatz für mein Motorrad finden und einfach nur entspannen, denn der Tag und die Strecke waren insgesamt doch relativ lang. Die Temperaturen hier sind aber überraschenderweise Sehr angenehm, weitaus angenehmer als in Südspanien. 

Die nächsten 2 Tage war ich bei Asma. WIr waren in Kenitra und Rabat und es ist schön nach all der Zeit wieder hier zu sein , und einige Veränderungen festzustellen. 

Wir sitzen gerade entspannt in einem Café in Rabat Salé nach einigen Kilometern zu Fuss heute und lassen den Abend relativ gemütlich ausklingen. Morgen haben wir dann noch einen Tag hier und am Dienstag fahren wir mit dem Auto zu ihrer Famile nach Settat (sie wollen mich unbedingt sehen). Dann werde ich die Rückreise Richtung Tanger antreten, um Ende der WOche wieder in SPanien zu sein.

Der nächste Post kommt dann eventuell von Tanger bevor ich wieder nach Spanien fahre; je nachdem wie es mit der Internetverbindung aussieht und meiner Zeit ;)
