So, so that I can end my journey here with you, here is a little review of our last days.
Once again arrived at the port of Sihanoukville, we took the night bus to Siem Reap and spent the next day in the city and our hostel. The next day started at 4 o'clock with a loud wake-up call from our phone. Half an hour later, we were picked up by the ordered tuk-tuk to be on time for the sunrise at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Angkor. Completely exhausted, we each bought an overpriced ticket for $37 and arrived at the famous temple complex Angkor Wat at around 5:30. Although many parts of the stone buildings are already destroyed, the complexes are still considered one of the most famous architectural wonders in the world and are a must-visit for tourists. The neighboring complex Angkor Thom was once the capital of the Khmer Empire and is absolutely impressive with temples like Bayon, Banteay Srei, and many more, both in terms of architecture and style.
After visiting six temples and walking for 5 hours, the tuk-tuk brought us back to the hostel and an hour later, we took the bus to Bangkok. We arrived in the evening and went to bed at 10 o'clock, completely exhausted.
We spent our last full day in Asia exploring Bangkok once again, but above all, we visited the many markets to spend our last money. To relax before the flight, we treated ourselves to a massage followed by a delicious meal on Kao San Road.
On our departure day, the alarm clock woke us up at 5 o'clock and we took a taxi to the airport. After a stop in Dubai and a night in Hamburg, we are now on the Flixbus to Berlin.
As a final word, I am very grateful for all the experiences, the fun, and the things I was able to experience on this journey. Even though there were sometimes small lows, I am very satisfied with the last 4 months and would recommend every student to take advantage of the time after school and embark on such a journey.
Nevertheless, I am now very excited to see ALL of you again and I am ready to focus on the seriousness of life ;).
See you soon!!
Your Marlene ❤️
