The last hours and days in Reykjavik are passing. And one thing remains: the city is colorful. Both in its sweet little alleys (all houses have different colors. What was once a help for the fishermen to recognize the city in the fog, is now a government regulation) and also mentally in the minds of the people. Everything is allowed and everything is ok. That makes it easy to fall in love with and stay here.
We end our week of hiking with a visit to the Blue Lagoon and let ourselves float in the light blue water for hours. All the efforts of the last few days are forgotten, what remains is a backpack full of memories that will continue to accompany and connect us.
On the way back from the lagoon, getting the race documents for tomorrow's run proves to be a small hurdle because we have to go to the other end of the city for that. No problem here in Iceland - the bus driver simply drops us off at the end of the official route.
For Jule, it means checking in at the airport to start the yoga weekend again actively tomorrow. For Anne, it means checking in. From the luxurious enjoyment of the double room (and the own bed) back into the colorful shared room, to relax after the run on Saturday and enjoy a restful weekend in and around Reykjavík.
There will be reasons to come back. I am very sure! Goodbye beautiful, untamed Iceland 🇮🇸
