There is always something...

Buga: 27.04.2024

The four of us arrive in Olhos de Agua. There is a fantastic pitch under pine trees directly behind the cliff by the sea. Our dogs are beside themselves when they see their three friends from our friends again. It is also very nice for us to have familiar faces around us again. Almost speechless, we explore the area together and after a few meters we find ourselves on a sandy path directly on the famous red cliffs of the Algarve. The Atlantic roars beneath us and we see fine sandy beaches as far as the horizon. We are truly moved by the beauty of nature. Bizarre red and white rocks meander down to the beach. There are wooden steps everywhere that lead down to the magnificent beach. A huge pine forest stretches out on the rocks with endless paths that you can roam around on. It is not just the furry friends who are overjoyed. We spend four days together in this amazingly beautiful place and then end up in Armacao de Pera on a dirt-cheap campsite almost directly by the sea. It's great for walking with dogs here. There is a river that ends in a lake just before the sea and is surrounded by a sandy beach. The dogs are beside themselves with joy. The place is also right next to the small town that has a lot to offer. Beaches, restaurants, bars, plazas, shopping malls and much more. Everything that makes dogs and people happy.

We're setting ourselves up at home with an awning and everything that goes with it, because we're going to repair our bathroom here. Our shower tray has cracks and the water is running into the floor. By chance we recently found the same tray again and took it with us. We're going to install it here. To do this we have to dismantle almost the entire bathroom, because everything is somehow connected. And of course, as is usually the case, things aren't going smoothly! Kilian has glued the old tray over the entire surface for 'life'. It takes hours to tear it out in individual pieces, and hours more to scrape off the silicone residue. The new tray is then (of course) a few millimeters too big and we have to get the angle grinder to get the hardwood frame to fit. It's dusty like crazy and the whole interior is covered with a thick layer of dust after a few minutes. Big clean, I see you coming!!😵😷 But that too will pass and three days later the tray is in, the bathroom is back together and the big clean is done in the truck. As a reward, we go shopping in town. That's a real challenge for me in Portugal. So many beautiful, colorful dishes, tiles and much more invite you to spend money. I have to really hold back because we don't have room for new things. But a new necklace and a colorful scarf had to come along.

I found a job online and will be working online 2-4 hours a day starting next week. Traveling costs money and we don't want to stop.

We will stay here until Monday and then continue to travel leisurely through the beautiful Algarve.
