Day 8: That starts well: after getting up I find a note in front of our door. The nice neighbor from the Netherlands wishes us a good trip and thanks us for the help with the power cables. It's a shame, I would have liked to do a story with her today. Han is definitely over 80 and travels around the world with her dachshund Suske in their little old bus. She would definitely have had a lot to say...
Speaking of writing. As always, I connected my laptop to the battery overnight to charge. When I randomly check, I notice that it is not loaded. I check the plugs, the cables, try different power sources, restart the laptop - nothing. The battery remains at 19 percent. This does not look good. Luckily I still have my iPad with me. Let's see, maybe I can think of something else.
When I start my iPad, I check a few things. We wanted to look at a property near Valencia that I found on eBay a few weeks ago. It is a private parking space for four or five mobile homes that a couple from Germany has lovingly prepared over the past twelve years. I contacted Maike, the owner of the property, and arranged an approximate date. Together with a few friends from my Morocco tour who are now in Spain, we wanted to take a look at the whole thing. This morning I discovered that the ad had been deleted. Maike hasn't responded to my email yet.
After our little Emmi just jumped out of the motorhome and barked loudly at two huge German Shepherds who were peacefully marching past our place with their master and mistress, I decided to spend the day in bed.
PS: Two hours later a scream of joy woke me up. Icke connected the laptop to the power station - just like I did before - and lo and behold: the battery is charging. She also checked my emails and got a reply from Maike. She is looking forward to our visit to show us her property. And there's a couple from England standing next to us now with a huge vintage motorhome, and I think I can feel them dying to tell me their story. Yes... under the Spanish sun, problems are solved in your sleep. At least some.
