Tag 39 - Restricted Space

Since Isabel from the Netherlands also lives here, the whole family sleeps in two small, windowless rooms, each about 8 or 10 square meters. Grandmother, daughter, three grandchildren, a nephew. Windowless because similar narrow but deep houses are adjacent on the right and left. There is no privacy, but it doesn't seem to bother anyone either. Life takes place in the open kitchen anyway. Open, because only part of it is covered. I like how they interact with each other, so calm and naturally assisting. How free the children can move around, because no one minds if they spill something or are loud. Or if the 4-year-old cousin wants to pour a glass with the 3-liter jug.

The cake was well received. Strangely enough, Candida's birthday is not really celebrated. Actually, the relatives should come, but maybe they were already here this afternoon. Tonight there is another event in honor of the Virgin, a few streets away in another church. The family will go there together. There is a similar program as before: music, folklore, probably a clergyman who fires up everyone. And for some time now, there has been a lot of fireworks going on. If I weren't so tired again, I would go along, probably can't sleep anyway with all the noise.

I'm getting tired, I'm calling it a day. It's just after nine...
