Tag 130 - Big Brother

The heat doesn't pass by anyone unnoticed. Coincidentally, I noticed today how Luis reacted angrily to Isaac because he couldn't understand something that was clearly very simple. "My" Isaac. He came alone to our lesson this afternoon - his brother Joseef was supposedly sent somewhere by their mother. I was fine with that. To be honest, it's too exhausting for me with two people, but once again I couldn't say "no". Focusing completely on Isaac, I noticed how poorly he speaks, he doesn't even form complete sentences. He leaves out endings, merges words together. Well, all Nicas do that, but not to the point of indistinctness like Isaac. This reminds me of the conversation I had with my Spanish teacher Aura this morning. We ended up talking about poorly paid teachers in public schools who earn about $200. There is no money available for a motivating salary or more schools with smaller classes. This leads to early dropouts and embellished diplomas. Poorly educated students become poor teachers, because these (admittedly secure) jobs are only obtained through the right ideology and not through good performance. According to Aura, this creates a spiral that keeps going downward, which is intentional, because uneducated citizens are easier to influence and less rebellious. Oh, Aura, that sounds like a paranoid conspiracy theory. Although some points are undeniable.

Tomorrow I'll write something funny.
