Our journey in Bali continues from Ubud to Sanur, on the way we also visit the Besakih Temple (the Mother Temple of the Hindus) right next to Mount Agung, the highest and most active volcano in Bali. You can also climb Mount Batur on the other side of the island. We are satisfied with the view of the mountains. The landscape is beautiful and we drive for three hours through the mountains and discover rice terraces rather accidentally, not like Telgalangan but without tourists, without entrance fees, and entirely for ourselves. We have a delightful cold drink and chat with the owner. Then we continue through congested streets to Sanur.
Sanur is a wonderful holiday destination with a beach and beach bars and restaurants right on the beach. We have a nice hotel and rent bicycles. With these, we can easily relax on the beach and go into town. The streets are quite crowded here too, but not as bad as on the west side of the island.
We chill out a bit and enjoy the holiday vibe. The next day, we take a trip to Nusa Penida, snorkeling and exploring the island. Again, many people, many cars, and surprisingly very hilly, very narrow roads. Everything is wonderful while snorkeling and we see a manta ray and many colorful fish 🐠 a truly beautiful day! The beaches and the cliffs are also spectacular. In the evening, it's time to pack, everything into a bag, what we need for the next 5 days on the Gili Islands... Bikini 👙 and flip flops 🩴 and maybe a t-shirt. We are very excited 🤩
