We spent the day in La Fortuna with a day hike. Our hike started with a short walk to a waterfall. Along the way, our guide pointed out the many birds and spiders, and we even saw a small snake. The jump into the cold water was a refreshing experience.
After lunch, we continued our journey to a higher platform from where we could see the nearby volcano. On the way back, I noticed a snake slithering just a few centimeters away from our guide. It turned out to be Costa Rica's most venomous snake, the Bushmaster.
Afterwards, we visited a river heated by the volcano to comfortable temperatures, where we enjoyed another swim and a face mask made of volcanic ash.
The next morning, I left early again and took the shuttle to Tortuguero.
