Via Ferrata Fort L'Ecluse

Buga: 09.08.2023

A wonderful hello from the toilet room at the campsite,

You are probably wondering why I am writing to you from here - well, this is the only free power outlet that the campsite has. Better than having no battery left.

The day was a dream. Today I climbed the Fort L'Ecluse via ferrata. Rated as a C/D, it was a real pleasure on the rock, but especially when alone, one should not lose concentration. I took all the pictures with special protection using a sling, so that nothing can go wrong here.

And the pictures speak for themselves. The view was spectacular and I felt a little bit like in Assassin's Creed - on a secret mission to the upper castle.

The entry point was at the lower main castle, which can also be visited.

The view is a dream

From there, it went higher and higher through 4 sectors.

Up up up
I was clearly visible on the wall.

With my pink neon trousers, I was also easy to spot for the tourists at the lower castle.

Sector D
Wow!!!
Really beautiful route!
Upper castle

Once there, it goes over a beam and a 10-meter rope over the abyss to reach the end.

Over it!
Yeeeeeha!

I let out a little scream of joy when I reached the top because I had so many feelings of happiness and adrenaline.

Discovered something else. Camino de Santiago sign.
Upper castle turned into a high ropes course.

Pretty cool - The upper castle has been converted or prepared in such a way that it is now a high ropes course where you can romp and climb around, both on and around the castle.

It was so worth it.
Fairy forest

After a short period of disorientation, I headed back to my vehicle via the 20-minute descent through the fairy forest.

Maybe I'll see a mythical creature.

The way down was also quite idyllic and I thought to myself 1-2 times that this is what a fairy forest looks like.

Now I am near Annecy and I ended the day with a little swimming session. Before and after that, I treated myself to an original French croissant and pain au chocolat. But the photos and a wonderful amusing story will come tomorrow.

Now it's time to go to bed early so that I can get up early tomorrow and explore Annecy. I am meeting a NomadHer for lunch. I'm excited.

Feel encouraged that you can achieve anything!

Yours, Britta
