Our time in Malaysia has an absolute highlight: we receive a visit from the now grown-up but very much missed child. I'm so excited as we wait for her at the airport in Kuala Lumpur and the joy of seeing her again is just huge.
We first go to Malacca together to arrive and explore the really beautiful city, the water park and the surrounding area on the moped. Then we set off straight away to our actual destination, to Borneo, which of course we also discovered on a moped.
Our first stop on the island immediately impressed us. The small bungalow complex can only be reached by boat and offers a very cozy holiday camp atmosphere with communal meals, monkeys in the trees and hummingbirds on the terrace. We are here to enjoy the sea and also to do some diving.
After many years, the two water rats plunge under the rough sea again and on the first exchange we don't see anything because there is virtually no visibility, but we are thrilled that we can still do it.
The next two days the adventure increases from colorful coral gardens with a fish nursery, to shrimp and puffer fish, to the last dive where reef and bamboo sharks say “hello” to us and shortly before we surface two stingrays come by to say goodbye to us. MEGA!
