On Sunday, I took the bus to the Petersen Automotive Museum. As the name suggests, it is a car museum. There are various things to do there, including the regular admission and a Vault Tour, a tour of the museum's basement where around 250 cars are displayed. When I arrived there, I first noticed a Porsche 911 Gt1 in the vestibule, a very interesting street-legal racing car that only 25 were made. The Vault Tour started at 12 o'clock. We went down to the basement where we were guided through the history of American automobiles. Cameras were not allowed there, so there are no photos from there. It was interesting to see the old cars, which were usually very large and wide back then.
After the tour, I went to the regular part of the museum. I started on the third floor, where there were movie cars and older models. On the second floor, there were some motorcycles, small older cars, and concepts. There was also a simulator, which I had to try out. Then we went to the first floor, which was probably the most exciting part for me in the whole museum, the Porsche exhibition. It followed the history. For example, there was one of the first 911s, an old Carrera, and a Turbo. Then there was a big leap to the Porsche Carrera GT. On one side, there were some high-end racing cars on display, along with my highlight, the 919 Hybrid.
After the museum, I walked around the city a bit, including a short visit to Korea Town. After that, I went to Santa Monica Pier where I watched the sunset, which was really beautiful with the pier in the foreground and the bright red sun on the horizon.
The next morning, I took my time and went to Santa Monica Pier around noon to lie in the sun on the beach. At some point, I walked to Venice again to go to Hinano. I had been recommended the burger there, but I wasn't allowed in because it's also a bar and people under 21 are not allowed to enter such places. So I went back to watch the sunset. At home, I made myself something to eat and went to bed.
On the last day of my trip, I woke up early, packed my things, and left the hostel at 10 o'clock. The ride to the airport took about two hours because I had to take a detour by train. At the airport, I checked in and waited for the flight at 17 o'clock. The plane had more legroom than the previous ones, which I really liked. I chose a window seat because I had the choice between window and middle and I wanted to see something.
Los Angeles looks simply impressive from above, only from so high up can you see how far the city stretches. Unfortunately, this is not so clearly visible in the photos, but you can almost make out all the streets and especially the highways. We made a curve over the sea and after five minutes in the air, you could only see a mountainous desert with some roads, which also looked very interesting.
