Ranar mu ta karshe

Buga: 20.07.2023

As the saying goes:

When it's most beautiful, you have to leave.

So it is probably true, because today is our last day in Bali. Tomorrow we will be picked up at 12 o'clock and then fly from Denpasar to Germany in the evening.

On the one hand, we were of course sad, on the other hand, we knew that we would come back.

Our plan for this day was to go to the diving station after breakfast, then lay on the beach and enjoy the sun, then have a small intermediate drink at the pool bar, and have dinner at our favorite warung Mekar in the evening.

Except for our favorite warung Mekar, everything worked out.

We had made an appointment with Olli, the owner of the diving school. He wanted to show us his holiday apartments. He had a small plot of land with an infinity pool. There were 3 apartments on it. 2 for 2 people each and a family room for 4 people. The rooms cost 40€ including breakfast. Only the family room had a living room with a small tea corner. Unfortunately, we could not look inside the rooms, but we suspected that the family room was about 40 m2 and the others were about 25 m2 each.

Unfortunately, Olli wasn't there to show us the facility. But his sister-in-law did it instead. Maybe we wanted to book it.

Actually, we only said goodbye to Ella.

My dog friend Ella. I believe that if I lived here, I would take her with me. We had already met Ella at the beginning of our vacation. She was a little cheeky rascal. A very lively and already totally spoiled lady dog. Everyone cuddled with her and played games with her. But she was also sweet.

Our Pillo would have certainly had a lot of fun with her, but she had to stay here. So we took a few more photos and said goodbye.

But we came back in the afternoon because Olli's sister-in-law said he would be back around 3-4 p.m., but he didn't. But it didn't matter, we had seen everything.

So we leisurely walked back to the hotel. We lay down directly on our sun loungers and listened to music. It was wonderful. Totally relaxing. In the meantime, the two of us went into the water to cool off. Today we didn't want to snorkel, just cool off. After 3 hours we changed our sun loungers with the bench at the pool bar. What could be nicer than sitting in the water and drinking an Aperol Spritz (O stands for orange juice 🤣).

Ok, but there isn't much more that is nicer 🤣🤣. We also said goodbye here after 2 hours and decided to go to our room, change clothes, and go on our afternoon tour.

As I said, Olli wasn't there now either, so we talked to Julian. Personally, I preferred Julian, and I think Rainer did too.

Olli is a nice guy, but we didn't think it was okay to cancel on us twice. Oh well. We chatted with Julian and invited him and Sophie to our home. He was happy and accepted the invitation.

When we were on our way home again, it was too early to have dinner. So we followed Rainer's suggestion and had a glass of wine at my place first and then went to Mekar (Warung) afterwards.

But unfortunately (fortunately) the hotel manager invited us to dinner. She wanted to thank us for staying at her hotel for so long and for being pleasant and friendly guests.

Naturally, we accepted the invitation, anything else would have been rude. She asked us when we wanted to have dinner and it arrived promptly at 7 p.m. It was delicious again, and we enjoyed our last evening in Amed. Today we didn't sit in our usual spot because it was occupied. Rainer suggested another table, and I regretted not sitting here for the last 3.5 weeks.

In the evening, you could see the sunset much better than where we usually sat. With our usual spot, I always had to get up for photos, now I could stay seated. Awesome.

On our last evening, I wrote the diving story for the 3rd time.

I had started in the morning at 6 o'clock, and when I wanted to publish it, it was gone. I wrote the story on the beach at 11 o'clock, but it was gone again after publication.

I was totally frustrated. Rainer told me to put more pictures in the blog and stop writing so much. However, Julian asked me why I write in "Notes" and then copy it. My response was: because I'm old 🤣.

So in the evening, I wrote the story for the 3rd time in the blog, and lo and behold...it's still there.

When we were done with everything, we went back to the room around 10 p.m. and packed our bags.

I got up twice during the night to look at the stars. The universe and I communicated with each other.

We are very grateful for what we have experienced and learned during our vacation in Bali.

Thank you to everyone who supported us.
