Ubud a DREAM

At 12:30 p.m. we were supposed to go to Ubud today. We spent the morning completely at the beach 🏖. Today, that pleasant breeze was there again. That was really nice. Daniela actually didn't want to leave the resort at all. But I was already super excited. What I had read about Ubud beforehand really fascinated me 😀.

We then set off towards Ubud on time with Ketut. Ketut was our driver. He was super nice and filled us with great information.

Shortly before Ubud, we made a stop at a coffee and tea plantation. Here we also had a very nice guide who explained all the plants/trees etc. to us in detail. It was really interesting. Then he stopped in front of different bowls and explained the individual contents to us. There were spices, coffees, teas, and at the last bowl he said "oh here is special coffee-very expensive!" Oh yes, and why? It is POOOOP!!!!!! WHAAAAT??? YEEEEEES POOOOP 💩Coffee from this animal. Daniela looked at me in astonishment 😯 and said, it's poop????!!!! I had to laugh, but I had heard before that there is this special poop coffee. The beans from the coffee plants are actually in the poop of the animals that eat them... (apparently it also works with dogs - so enjoy your meal Littlefoot😉). So the so-called poop looked better than it smelled. The animals were lying in their cages and the female was lying alone because she was about to give birth.

Afterwards, the guide took us to a table where we could taste all kinds of coffee and tea. I have to say, that was impressive too, because our view was directed towards a huge rice field where the farmers were planting the rice. All by hand, amazing, considering how our fields are planted. I am still blown away by this beautiful place.

Eventually, the tour unfortunately ended and we went back to Ketuk. He then dropped us off at our hotel after a short drive.

The hotel is about 900 meters from the center. We can see the jungle from our balcony.

After checking into our hotel, we went out and explored Ubud a bit. The people are all super friendly and life here also takes place completely on the streets. Cooking, grilling, and everything is sold that you can imagine. Eventually, our flip-flops started to smoke and we agreed that it's time for a cooling dip in the pool. We went back to the hotel and went into the pool in the dark. I have to write it like this because the pool is an infinity pool and it's amazing. Because when you swim in it, you feel like you're swimming out into the jungle. Somehow you don't see an end, because there are no edges and the water disappears into nothingness.

Tomorrow we're going on a bike tour with a guide through the rice fields and villages. I'm really looking forward to that.

Well, we're going to have a drink now.
