In the late afternoon, we drove out of the city with our safari guide Naiib, away from the straight highways into the desert.
The fact that a desert safari is not for everyone according to the description should have made me think 🤔 Nevertheless, we were looking forward to it all day! At a meeting point far from the road, we met about 15 V8 jeeps and deflated the tires. By now, it was clear to me: 🤢🤢🤢
It got worse than expected: for the next half hour, we zigzagged up and down the sand dunes in a convoy of cars. Not for the faint of heart and sensitive stomachs... Our guide performed true acrobatics on the sand. A few times, we could only see the rear tires of the car in front of us from below, and it was clear that we were going downhill 😲😲😲
After a loooong drive, we visited a camel farm at the first stop... but it was too hot to take nice pictures!
We continued 🤢🤢🤢 Michaela felt sick, and Andre was well and happy - on the dunes. Message to Naiib: I'm only doing this for my husband 😩
Longingly awaited, after what felt like an eternity, the Bedouin camp appeared. Here, we were entertained for several hours with typical activities such as sandboarding, henna paintings, camel riding 🐫🌴, and much more... when I noticed that the tires were being inflated again - I felt a weight lift off my chest! The way back was straight and almost 'sand-free' - Thank you Naiib! 😉😉😉
Despite the sickness and stunts... a great day in a breathtaking setting!!!!!!!!
