The reputation of the island with its wet and cheerful parties precedes it. However, we also heard that Koh Phangan has a lot to offer besides that. In connection with the night train ride, we decided to give the island a chance and spend a few days there. We had booked the accommodation on Koh Phangan together with the night train. (We would never do it like this again, but that's another story...)
Well, unfortunately, there's not much to tell about Koh Phangan at this point. Our visit to the island was pretty much a washout as the rainy season was in full swing. Now we can at least talk about the rainy season. It poured almost continuously for the three days we were here. Excursions, beach, and parties were out of the question. As a farewell, we had a strong thunderstorm with clattering roof tiles and shaking beds on our last night. Fortunately, our ferry departed the next morning, despite the bad weather and rough sea. Things aren't taken so seriously here, and we made it back to the mainland as well.
