Koh Phangan

We booked our onward journey to the neighboring island of Koh Phangan at a small travel agency the day before. Once again, everything went smoothly. The mini-van was waiting for us outside the hotel on time. The driver took us across the island to Nathon Pier.

The ferry ride took about 45 minutes and was very pleasant. When we arrived on the other side, we grabbed a pick-up taxi that took us to the hotel. Koh Ma Beach Resort is a 4-star resort. However, since it is still under construction, we were able to get the comfortable rooms at a discounted price.

From the hotel room, it was only a few meters to the beach. The nearby reef was particularly beautiful. We rented snorkeling gear and enjoyed a wonderful snorkeling trip right from the beach. To our amazement, we saw entire schools of fish. We discovered many small colorful fish (such as trumpet or parrotfish).

In the evening, we climbed a nearby hill. The view from Mae Haad Tree House Bar was fantastic. The food was also fresh and delicious. What is special about the restaurant is that you sit on cushions on the floor.

After only two nights, we are about to embark on a long journey to Koh Lanta.
