#3: Golden Mount

The arrival and the first day in the foreign climate show first signs: The day starts for us at 1:00 p.m. after an improvised breakfast. However, we have now found out how the people of Bangkok supply themselves with the daily utensils. There is a 7-Eleven shop on almost every street about 100 meters apart.

The relaxed morning is today only complemented by another relaxed point of the day and we are heading to the Golden Mount. The Golden Mount is a temple complex that has been built by different kings over the past centuries. On the way there, we pass through a craftsmen quarter where people do various forge and woodworks. Handcrafted pots, doors, handles, mini elephants, and wooden letters can be purchased there, for example.

After a donation of 50 ฿ and the sweaty climb of 344 steps, you have an excellent 360° view of Bangkok's Old Town from the top of the Golden Mount.

The day ends with dinner at our regular street vendor. Tonight, we have fried garlic chicken and fried noodles, this time to take away.
