Elephants and “Ricola”… that only exists in Thailand

Publié: 12.03.2024

Our last day...we will spend most of our time in the car back to Chiang Mai. On the way there we will marvel at another sight: “The Bamboo Bridge at the Shan Mountain Temple”. That means we cross 700 meters of vegetable fields on a bridge built by monks. It's just fun to walk over it while the sun slowly rises. 🌅 The landscape is breathtaking.
Then comes our highlight of the day. We reach one of many elephant stations. 🐘Here you can feed and pet as much as you want. Bee's heart 🥰 opens. She loves animals more than anything and takes her breath away every time she sees a neglected animal. Unfortunately, there are quite a few of them in Thailand. We continue on what is probably the most winding route in the whole world. We make another “food” stop at Pankled Coffee (can also be found at tripadvisor.de), where it is Sheep 🐏 are good and fill our bellies in the truest sense.
When we arrived in Chiang Mai, we said goodbye to our dear “JohnBoy”, of course not without taking one last photo with him. Including my “Ricola” Swiss herbal sweets, which he loves so much and which helped him get through his cold.
At the end of my trip, it's nice to have written a travel blog again. I hadn't actually planned this because I don't travel alone and at the beginning I thought there wouldn't be enough time for it. Now I'm happy to have written this kind of postcard substitute 🏞️ for my loved ones at home. And, if I'm honest, I have a bad memory and the blog put a bit of pressure on me to write every day so that I didn't forget in June where I went on vacation in February. 😂 My sister took these wonderful photos during our trip. Thank you very much bee 🐝 🙏🏼
On our return flight I sit next to Markus. He is Swiss and Bee asks him if he speaks German. 😂 Well, not everyone understands Swiss German. Markus is very charming, a man in his prime (he may be 10 years younger), ☺️ he has canceled his old life and now he will be on the road for 12 months. If that's not a coincidence, this plan has been in my head for a while. “Well, I will definitely mention you in my blog, I do that with everyone I like.”😜
My vacation in a country I didn't know felt like I was let off the leash🦮 to get a taste of everything I didn't know.🐶 Or to put it another way, do what you like and you'll come across things that you like.

Findings from my trip: Things you should definitely have with you: a cozy blanket because of the air conditioning in the hotels and also for the flights, tissues as a replacement for toilet paper (which is in short supply in public toilets), a first aid kit if you're really there has to go on a trekking tour.🤪

I'll be back - Thailand.
