Dunedin, pronounced 'Da-nieden', was founded by Scottish settlers. Today, it is a university city with the internationally renowned University of Otago. In the morning, we stroll through the city, which boasts nice murals and buildings from the 1920s. The train station is particularly beautiful.
In the afternoon, we spend time on the Otago Peninsula. It is extremely windy today, and at the end of the peninsula, Fort Taiaroa, we have to be careful not to be blown away. In the evening, we could observe penguins coming out of the water. We leisurely drive back with a detour to the botanic garden.
