Ticket Office (Elbogen)

On the bus ride to Elbogen, I spotted a campsite near the historic old town. On site, Elbogen itself looks very promising, perched on its granite block above the Ohře bend.

Arriving at the campsite, I am delighted with the cozy spot that led me on my journey. Right by the rather wild-looking Eger River, I set up my camp. Since the afternoon is still young and the weather is dry, I decide to do some laundry. It goes well, so why not rinse Rango at the same time... The plan proves to be a bit tougher. I have to literally force the chubby one into the Ohře (treats and toys don't work so well) and dislocate my shoulder twice in the process. Once he's in, he lets me wash him very calmly... stubborn dog!

The next day, Rango gets to guard the camp and I set off to explore the historic old town of Elbogen. As I ascend the city walls, the town welcomes me with an art gallery. I'm not able to classify the art I saw, but I really liked the colorful pictures with the cute characters. The town itself also quickly captivates me. Due to its location high above the Ohře and almost enclosed by it, the whole town has a castle-like medieval flair. Narrow winding alleys and quaint paths along the city walls invite aimless wandering. The place made an impression.
