Last night it rained almost nonstop, but our tent held up. Fortunately, the morning was nice again and we climbed up a nearby rock to have breakfast there. From there, we had a breathtaking view of the Lyngenfjord and the Lyngsalpen mountains that rise behind it.
After breakfast, we enjoyed the view for a while and then set off again. Our destination for today was a campsite near the city of Alta. The drive towards Alta was the most beautiful on our trip so far. In addition to the beautiful scenery, there were some small cabins by the roadside where elderly ladies sold typical products of their people, the Sami (Lapp) people.
On the further drive, we finally met them, not yet moose, but reindeer.
We enjoyed them the whole drive and drove to the campsite. It was crazy busy here. We didn't get a spot, not even on the surrounding sites. However, the operator was very friendly and let us use the shower. Afterwards, we drove to a nearby parking lot and decided to spend the night here. For dinner, we had grilled salmon with side dishes, luxury up here.
On our spot, we met a German expat who has been living in his truck and traveling the world for many years. We will spend the evening with him and have an expensive beer.
