Cold arrival

Publié: 03.02.2019

We start on Saturday in sunshine and have to stop after a few hundred meters. First, put the carpet for Lizzie so that she doesn't slip. She's already desperate again, poor thing.

We drive through the Black Forest to France and make the first overnight stop in Nancray in a parking lot next to a museum. Nice and quiet, the museum is closed. We are camping with fellow campers from the Harz region.

The view from the motorhome the next morning blows us away. And I was looking forward to it stopping raining.... We wanted to escape from that!

We set the route for today - we drive on national roads - you see more and make good progress. Past Lyon towards southern France and decide to go to a campsite tonight. We still don't have water in the motorhome and an Aldi six-pack doesn't last forever...

It will be Camping de Tournon in Tournon sur Rhône. On the way, we have all types of weather, including 20 cm of fresh snow. And it looks like the snowstorm wasn't long ago.... But it should start getting 'southern' soon.

In Tournon, today is a station for the Rallye Monte Carlo Historique - how nice! We look at great old cars, have a mulled wine - it's really... cold and actually discover a participant with a BL license plate.
