After almost two years of waiting, our new motorhome is finally here and we set off on our first trip.
We were supposed to go to Czech Republic in the summer. However, we made a stop in Spreewald.
Lübbenau has been a tourist destination for over 150 years, offering boat trips on the canals. Even today, there were many visitors in the town.
Although we arrived in the late afternoon, there were still some boats on the canals, even though many had already been moored on the shores.
After the long drive, we didn't want to spend another two hours in a boat, so we preferred to walk along the canals and through the forest.
We walked to Lehde, a small village that belongs to the town of Lübbenau.
Here, we made a stop for an ice coffee before heading back to Lübbenau.
In Lübbenau, we took a detour through the castle park.
Then we drove a few kilometers further to the Slawenbug Raddusch.
The reconstruction of a Slavic rampart from the 9th/10th century houses a museum of local history.
Unfortunately, we couldn't see it anymore because we arrived too late.
However, we could still see the exterior, which is beautifully landscaped, and walk along the 'Zeitsteg'.
Right next to the entrance to the museum grounds is a parking lot where we spent the first night in our motorhome.
We ended the day with a short evening walk along the fields and the fenced-off area of a former open-pit mine.
