In the morning, take a stroll through the city of Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. Wellington may seem quite hectic by New Zealand standards, but it is far from the hustle and bustle of European or American metropolises.
Take a ride on the historic Cablecar, although it is quite unspectacular, the view from the top is much better from Mount Victoria Lookout. Pass by the department store Hallenstein in the city, Bendix Hallenstein was born in Germany in the 19th century and is considered the founder of New Zealand retail.
In the afternoon, visit the beaches of Princess Bay and Scorching Beach, the latter being a beautiful small sandy beach.
What is fascinating about Wellington are the steep streets and settlements built into the mountains.
