Ostirland/ Rückfahrt

To our surprise, the Irish sun decided to bless us with its warmth, allowing us to take off our jackets several times. Here, too, there were cliffs and lighthouses to see, but nature was more colorful, especially in yellow and purple.<br /></p>

We gladly took the 30-minute walk to the city center. In true tourist fashion, we decided to explore Temple Bar with its restaurants and pubs that evening. After a hearty dinner, we looked for a pub with live music. According to Marlene, it was supposed to be typically Irish with step dancing. In the end, two artists with guitar and violin were very convincing, so we spent our last evening in Ireland happily there.<br /></p>

Day 22: Since a big city restricts the fulfillment of natural needs, we quickly left the bus in the morning and went in search of a toilet. This could be well combined with breakfast, so we went to a small café where they served poached eggs and avocado toast. Unfortunately, not much, but at least our first needs were met.<br /></p>

Dublin didn't really blow us away, but that doesn't mean that the city isn't interesting. As mentioned several times before, we are more drawn to nature.<br /></p><p>After about 4 hours of walking, we were back at the car and prepared for our crossing to France. We packed our travel food, including bread and couscous salad, and had learned from the journey there to also pack our sleeping mats and chips.</p><p>We boarded the ferry and reserved our sleeping places (very German) while watching another ferry being unloaded from the sun deck. That was really cool, and we felt like real ship enthusiasts.<br /></p><p>We were looking forward to finally watching a movie again while eating. Everything was ready to go, until we realized that we had forgotten to pack spoons :( The attempt to use carrot sticks as a substitute also failed, so we embarked on the mission of finding spoons. Thanks to the cafeteria, the mission was successful with small plastic spoons.<br /></p>

Day 23: Until we arrived in France, our day was filled with personal hygiene, watching movies, and eating. This time, we were even allowed to stay on the ship until it docked and observe it until we had to get back into the cars. And then we were back to driving on the right side of the road.<br /></p>

It seemed to be very popular, as there were already 15 other campervans and motorhomes parked there beside us.<br /></p>

Ironically, this area is now used to preserve wild flower meadows, so the batteries stand in a colorful environment in the summer.</p><p>Day 24: After a short walk, we looked at the upcoming route and used an app to find a suitable place to park halfway. We only took a short cooking break to drive through Paris with renewed energy before continuing to our sleeping place in Sommesous.<br /></p>

Ironically, this area is now used to preserve wild flower meadows, so the batteries stand in a colorful environment in the summer.</p><p>Day 24: After a short walk, we looked at the upcoming route and used an app to find a suitable place to park halfway. We only took a short cooking break to drive through Paris with renewed energy before continuing to our sleeping place in Sommesous.<br /></p>

Just when you're not looking, Marlene takes the wheel. After practicing starting a few times, she drove through France for almost 1.5 hours.<br /></p><p>By now, we have almost crossed France completely, we just have to cross the Rhine. A small spot of land at the Rhine will be our sleeping place today. But apparently, 20 other motorhomes have also found this spot. It almost feels like being among permanent campers.<br /></p><p>Tomorrow, we will go to a wedding in Stuttgart and then spend about a week in Freiburg to prepare ourselves and Freudolin again. From packing clothes to getting rid of unnecessary things to a visit to a workshop.<br /></p><p>Once we're back on the road, the journey will continue here as well.<br /></p><p>Until then, all the best!<br /></p>
