Emerging from the rainforest, we entered Long Beach. The beach is truly huge, and the weather makes it quite wild. Everywhere there are these small wooded islands in the sea, which are so typical of Canada, I think. We walk along the beach for a while, the rain has stopped now. We are almost alone and we keep looking at the edge of the forest, always expecting to see a bear. The landscape would definitely fit! But it remains quiet, no bears in sight today. It's probably for the best :D
It's incredible how quiet it is here. There are hardly any other people around. We sit down on a log for a while and watch the waves. Surfers are often seen here as well, but today we don't see any.
After a while, we start heading back on the same trail. After all, we still have the whale watching tour later. At the parking lot, we were startled by a free-roaming husky that from a distance really resembled a wolf. But then the collar gave it away ;)
