Entry into the USA + meet & greet with Philipp Grubauer

Publié: 26.01.2024

Instead of the alarm clock, we were woken up today by a stupid constant beeping from the street. I have no idea what that was, but it was loud, extremely annoying and went off half an hour before the alarm clock 🙄 No matter what, the night was far too short. Was busy texting until half past two to bring everything up to date😅
Suitcases were packed, the I-94 form for entry into the USA was filled out using the app and then we went back to Subway for breakfast. At 9:00 a.m. we were picked up directly from the hotel by the bus. Off to Seattle. The journey was quite unspectacular. Fill out the customs swipe, that's it. At the border we hoped to get through quickly, but that was a pity. The whole bus was searched. First our bus driver had to take out the approximately 65 suitcases that he had laboriously squeezed into the bus in Vancouver and we had to check them one by one. In the immigration hall we had to take everything off and stand against the wall like criminals while a search dog was let loose on our belongings. One of the group got caught. His snus was suspicious 😅 But after a closer check, he was also allowed to enter with all of us.
Suitcase back on the bus and off we went.
In Seattle we are staying at The Alexis Royal Sonesta Hotel Seattle. Nice here. What we've seen so far is also quite okay. Since we knew that the tour group wanted to eat at ShakeShak, we put our suitcases in the room, inspected the room and off we went. And we were so right😜 We were finished eating when they all arrived one after the other. Short small talk, then we went back to the hotel. Stopover at a Kraken fan shop and we still had half an hour to put our feet up in the room. At 5:15 p.m. we set off with most of the travel group to the Climate Pledge Arena to watch the Seattle Kraken vs Chicago Blackhawks game. With special offer today. Philipp Grubauer, one of our national goalkeepers (when he is released) has designed a beer stein (we say mug) to bring the Americans a little closer to the culture of his hometown of Rosenheim. Limited to 10,000 pieces😅. Given the small number of pieces, we of course just got one of these *ironyoff.
The arena itself is really cool. Beautiful design, everything new, good visibility from pretty much everywhere, comfortable seats, live music and the Space Needle Lounge is free for everyone. There was a little more action in today's game than the last one. Chicago was bad again and unlucky, but had a few good chances and approaches and also scored 2 goals. Final score of the game 6:2 for the Kraken. Afterwards there was a meet & greet with Philipp. Only a group photo was planned. Since he was standing right next to me, he took the opportunity and grabbed a photo straight away😇 It has to be mentioned at this point that he was very impressed with our old SERC jerseys. Original sound: you have nice old jerseys. 🥰 Since Philipp is a really cool guy, he took some time for more photos and autographs. Nice for everyone else, but we were the first 💪🏼 Afterwards the group went back to the bus and to the hotel. Brought the beer stones into the room and off we went. It's not like it was already 11:30 p.m. and most bars close at 12:30 a.m. 10 minutes up the road is Blarney Stone Pub. And they're open until 2 a.m.😅 Another nice Irish pup with pool tables and as luck would have it it was karaoke. Again very entertaining. However, I was really exhausted. After a Coke I made my way back to the hotel. The men stayed and wanted to play a few rounds of billiards. I was at the hotel at 1:30 am. When the gentlemen came, I have no idea 😅
