Hello dear ones,
Here we are again at one of my favorite places in Thailand. Pai is a small village in the north and 130km away from Chiang Mai. In Chiang Mai, I rented one of my beloved 125cc scooters and made my way up the winding road. The road is an absolute biker's dream. Green jungle everywhere and little traffic. On the way, I found a super cute witch cafe. But even riding the scooter was fun here.
In Pai itself, there is probably the most extraordinary village life I have ever seen. The night market is packed with food and unique crafts, many people dance merrily, and live music is played in almost every bar around the market. A place to relax and where stress is simply not allowed. Wonderful. You can stay in small bamboo huts there, which are simple but absolutely sufficient.
Furthermore, there is a literal oasis in Pai: the Sai Ngam Hot Springs, which are pleasantly warm but very natural. Perfect for a relaxing bath in the early morning when there is not much going on yet. Unfortunately, I had an accident here when someone crashed into my bike and injured my toe. That caused quite a few problems for a few days.
The waterfalls in the area, the bamboo bridge, and the canyon where you, to some extent, feel like something divine when you look over the treetops are also super beautiful. All of these are tours that can be done in 30 minutes and are doable in one day. However, I would have preferred to take more time and would have liked to stay longer. The village is simply so harmonious and peaceful that you can easily stay for a week.
