When I was sitting on the train from Walldürn to Miltenberg in the late afternoon and faced the question of whether I should make another stopover in Amorbach in between, I decided without hesitation when the train entered the station that I would get off in Amorbach. And when I look at the pictures of Amorbach now, I know that the spontaneous decision to get off here, carried by a delightful and inspiring flow of travel, was absolutely the right one.
Through a small underpass, I marched purposefully from the train station to the magnificent baroque Benedictine abbey on the castle square. The magnificent baroque Benedictine abbey, with its towers that could not be missed from afar. At the Cafe Schlossmühle on the castle square, I stopped to finally take my obligatory coffee and cake break during my travels in the afternoon, while the subsequent tour of the beautiful town should be documented with my series of pictures.
I had another 20 minutes left until my train would depart for Miltenberg in the early evening. To Miltenberg, where I had already checked into the hotel and left my large and heavy backpack. 20 minutes that I didn't want to let pass idly here in Amorbach. So I hurriedly ran up a road on the eastern outskirts of the town to maybe take a photo of Amorbach from a higher position, showing both church buildings of the small town: the aforementioned Benedictine abbey and the chocolate brown church of St. Gangolf. This undertaking was surely sweaty and a bit stressful. But it satisfied my passion for traveling, which wants to absorb everything around it, once again. And that is beautiful!
