The calm before the storm, that's how everything can be described right now. The preparations for the 4th of July are in full swing and you can already feel it. Streets are blocked off and flags are raised. We decided to take the subway to the United Center to avoid walking too much. There, we admired the statue of Michael Jordan and the Black Hawks' championship rings. After that, we headed towards the Willis Tower.
[There was a lot of discussion about which tower to choose. John Hancock Center or Willis Tower]
As I said, we decided to go for the Willis Tower, which is the second tallest tower in the USA and the tallest in Chicago.
For once, everything went according to plan with the bus and subway, so we could spend the late afternoon at Ohio Street Beach, which has an impressive skyline in the background.
For dinner, we had planned to try the typical Deep-Dish Pizza of Chicago, but we had to change our plans to sandwiches at Subway because Benedikt, who is not yet 21 years old, couldn't enter the bar where we wanted to eat. Weird Americans.
P.S. We still need to add some pictures from the day. They will come in a future update. Unfortunately, I'm too lazy to bring down the camera from upstairs to the lobby.
