Tag 55 NP Vikos - just before the Albanian border There are things you just need

Publié: 06.08.2019

This morning during my early morning exercise in front of the bus, I suddenly heard flute music. When I turned around, I saw a man standing on the bridge. He was playing the flute into the gorge. Sometimes it feels like a beautiful, different world. It was our neighbor, a Greek man, with his family and a T3 camper van. We always take our time in the morning. Sometimes it's already noon by the time we leave. Today, we wanted to take care of gas, because it won't be enough to get home. The annoying thing is that every country has different gas bottles. We only wanted a Greek bottle if there was no other option. We wanted to refill ours. Long story short, we visited 7 places before it was done. But no gas is not an option in our van life.

But I have to mention that everyone involved was very helpful in helping us. Today is our last night in Greece, at a lake just before the Albanian border. It feels strange to leave our beloved Greece. At the same time, we are also excited about Albania. That's how life is: every ending has a new beginning.

Summary of Greece:

The endlessly long sandy beaches in the Peloponnese are always beautiful. But we can also enjoy ourselves in the mountains. We discovered many new places in total. Time is the gift here. It gives us a lot of freedom.

We had no problem with free camping.

Rudi didn't let us down, even though we sometimes put him through a lot.

We encountered mosquitoes frequently, which was a good opportunity for Burki to kill them with a fly swatter.

The weather was as consistent as always. We even froze at night on several occasions.
