Our first night in New York was quieter than expected. No traffic noise, no loud sirens.
The morning started with a good coffee and a very tasty cream cheese bagel around the corner.
First item on the agenda:
Staten Island Ferry
Definitely worth it! The ferry is free and offers a beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty and the skyline of New York. Right next door is Battery Park, which is also worth a visit. A little insider tip is the homemade lemonade at the stalls.
A quick hello and touch of the "Wall Street Bull" was on the agenda afterwards. They say it brings good luck.
With the New York Explorer Pass, we can visit 3 attractions of our choice for free. Today we went to the 9/11 Memorial. Very impressive and moving, but you need a lot of time.
We then went to Chinatown and Little Italy, SoHo and NoHo.
Our conclusion after today:
New Yorkers are friendlier and funnier than they are said to be.
